THE POTENTIAL OF THE SCHOOL SUBJECT “MUSIC” IN THE FORMATION OF AESTHETIC FEELINGS IN ADOLESCENTS

Abstract

The aim of the article is to present the educational potential of the "Music" subject in the formation and development of the aesthetic feelings of adolescent learners. Within the scope of the study, the state standard and the syllabus of the subject, which serve as the basis for its organization and implementation, are analyzed. The article presents the syllabus and standard requirements of the subject, the forms of organization, the thematic plan for grades 5-9, and most importantly, the expected learning outcomes defined by the standard and syllabus at the end of basic school. It reveals to what extent the latter contribute to the formation of adolescents' aesthetic feelings, including emotional response, emotional empathy, and the meaningful interpretation of feelings, aesthetic perception, evaluation, as well as the formation of aesthetic needs.

The article also presents the general characteristics of music as an art form and its ability to influence an individual's emotions and feelings, as well as the psychological state of a person during adolescence, which is intimately connected to the emotional world, intense experiences, and the manifestation of feelings.
