In the article, we present the first stage of the work of an artist from the Armenian Diaspora, Sarkis Katchadourian, when he began to take his first steps into the world of great art. We have attached special importance to historical, political, and all other external factors that contributed to the formation of the artist in the process of his development.
Katchadourian 's first creative period was closely linked to the tragedy and suffering of his people, which the artist himself witnessed. From a young age, having narrowly survived the Hamidian massacres, these events inevitably left a deep mark on both the artist and his work.
The genocide had a great impact on Katchadourian as an Armenian, as well as on his work, especially in the first period. This is reflected in about 500 graphic and pictorial works by the artist.
Katchadourian was constantly on the lookout and it was this fact that influenced the versatility of the artist's works on various topics with a variety of techniques. He tried himself everywhere, creating a unique "katchadourian" art.
The article describes Katchadourian's work of the "Armenian period" and related historical and political events that made up the first period of the artist's work. The purpose of the article is to take a fresh look at the artist's work and present the historical features of this period, which were touched upon in his works on the genocide.
