THE STUDY OF ANTONYMY OF COMPARATIVE PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS AT THE INSTITUTE

Abstract

 The comparative phraseological units (CPU) built on imagination are stable binominal compounds, those components are linked. Among nominative CPU of modern Armenian adjectival, adverbial and verbal antonymic compounds are distinguished. Antonymic CPU can also be classified by their structure and semantic characteristics. The synonymous and antonymous relations are typical of the polysemantic CPU. In general synonymy and polysemy, antonymy and polysemy have obvious generalities: the same PU gets a synonymic or antonymic correlation with other PU not entirely, but by its separate meanings. Different emotionally expressive colorings, semantic contrast of antonymic CPU are more brightly demonstrated in the speech environment.

          This article examines the questions of teaching modern Armenian antonymic CPU by discovering of the relationship of polysemy and antonymy in the philological faculties of the university system (according to the lectures and practical lessons). Reccuring to the antonymic lines of the CPU it is necessary to observe them in parallel with synonymic lines: antonymic CPU are included into synonymic correlation with other CPU making certain synonymic - antonymic lines. Recommended to apply students' acquired theoretical knowledge in practice according to the chunking and concepts map methodological approaches, text work and group research methods, dictionary and creative works, computer Microsoft Power Point (or Google) presentation, question, as well as according to performing of exercises and tasks.
