This article discusses the importance of the principle of visual aids, in enhancing the effectiveness of the educational process in elementary school. The principle of visual aids is one of the oldest, arising from the recognition of patterns discovered through everyday knowledge. A detailed explanation of the principle of visual aids was given by John Amos Comenius, who wrote: "Let it be a golden rule for the teacher that everything which can be perceived by the senses should be presented accordingly: what is visible — through sight, what is audible — through hearing, smells — through the sense of smell, tastes — through taste, and what is tangible — through touch. If an object can be perceived by multiple senses at once, let it be perceived simultaneously by all of them." (Ter-Grigoryan A., 1980)
It emphasizes the role of interactive and practical methods that develop students’ cognitive activity. Visual aids contribute to the formation of competencies required by modern educational standards. A. Bakhtryan broadens the concept of visual learning by including all the senses and direct interaction with nature.
The conclusion is that excursions and observations of the surrounding world serve as the best first lessons in thinking: they ensure deeper learning, develop speech, and shape aesthetic perception while strengthening the child’s connection with nature.
