Abstract

Understanding the history of Armenian statehood holds significant value in the broader study of Armenian history. Within this context, the nearly 300-year legacy of Cilician Armenia stands out due to its rich historical, political, and cultural heritage.

This article explores key historical and civilizational aspects of Cilician Armenia—a pivotal era in Armenian statehood—and emphasizes the importance of effectively teaching these topics in higher education institutions. The history of Cilician Armenia is not a chapter of national tragedy, but rather a formative period whose typologically important elements continue to influence the present. Through this research, we aim to enhance comprehension of the past by identifying and analyzing these enduring historical realities.
