Abstract

The article explores Vano Siradeghyan’s first literary collection, Sunday, which marks the beginning of his creative journey. From as early as 1978, Siradeghyan had already made a name for himself in literary circles through the publication of his initial works in the periodical Garun (Spring). The appearance of his early short stories attracted significant attention, and the subsequent release of Sunday became a key milestone in shaping his literary trajectory. The collection showcases the author’s sharp observational skills and his ability to capture subtle psychological nuances. Siradeghyan’s stories focus on the struggles of the “little man” — the ordinary individual — offering insight into their inner world, personal dilemmas, and mental transformations. Through detailed portrayals of character and emotion, the collection reflects the author’s early interest in the psychological depth of human experience. Sunday thus stands as a defining point in Siradeghyan’s literary development and sets the tone for many of the themes he would later explore.
