The article examines one of the manifestations of the valency of intransitive verbs in the Modern Armenian language - adverbial valency (the ability to accept an adverbial modifier), which has not been the subject of study so far. This is what determines the relevance of the study.Studying the adverbial valency of intransitive verbs will provide a more complete understanding of the compatibility of not only personal, but also impersonal intransitive verbs.Of all the intransitive verbs of the Modern Armenian language, only those verbs are considered that can imply and require combination with an adverbial modifier or an adverbial modifiers through strong government, both direct and indirect (mediated). Combination of intransitive verbs with an adverbial modifier by means of association or weak government is not of interest from the point of view of studying adverbial valency.
The study of the adverbial valency of intransitive verbs in the Modern Armenian language shows that not all verbs have the ability to be combined with an adverbial modifier. Among intransitive verbs, those that lack the ability to combine with adverbial modifiers prevail. Some of the latter are distinguished by objective valency, while others have neither objective nor adverbial valency. At the end of the article, we made a number of conclusions arising from the theoretical provisions of the work.
