Abstract

In the current context of reinterpreting national values the comprehensive study of various issues in the history of various Armenian communities around  the world is becoming even more important, which is one of the most important  priorities of both Diaspora and domestic modern historiography. It completes the national preservation functions of a certain period in the history of Armenian Diaspora of a given country and examines well-known and sometimes less-known events and incidents. The main goal of the present study is to present the press published by the Lebanese Armenian community in different years based on comprehensive study of the periodical press as well as the picture of the existing connections in that field, in the context of the existing challenges from 1945 to 1991.

The research was conducted through a comparative study of undeniable and convincing historical facts. The study of a modern history of Lebanese Armenian communities is of both scientific, practical and theoretical, as well as political and contemporary significance. On the one hand, it reveals the complex events of the history of the colony during the period of study, and on the other hand, it becomes a landmark for the further development of historical thought. In this redard, we highly value the activities of the Mother See of Antelias, the Zartonk printing houses, as well as the publishing structures.

The above mentioned research in that article represents a systematic, comprehensive new analysis of the aforementioned issue during the years of the newly independent statehood.

This article has not only scientific but also practical significance. The facts presented in the work, the propositions put forward, the interpretations, the conclusions and the considerations can be used in the future to compile a dissertation thesis and a unified university course dedicated to the problems of the history of Lebanese Armenians.
